As a peace organisation, ICYE believes that violence is never an answer. We will therefore not remain silent in the face of the violent escalation unfolding before us – an escalation that continues a troubling pattern we have witnessed throughout the past years.
We are deeply concerned that war is once again being presented as a solution, and as a tool used by states to impose their national interests on others and to settle disputes by force. We firmly reject this logic.
Our message as ICYE is simple: war must not be normalised. Sustainable peace cannot be imposed through force, it must be built through dialogue, justice, and cooperation. Lasting security grows where civil society is free, connected, and strong. Where governments are held accountable and abide by the principles of the Charter of the United Nations.

Als Friedensorganisation ist ICYE der Überzeugung, dass Gewalt niemals eine Lösung ist. Wir werden daher angesichts der sich vor unseren Augen entfaltenden Gewalteskalation nicht schweigen – einer Eskalation, die ein beunruhigendes Muster fortsetzt, das wir in den vergangenen Jahren beobachtet haben.
Wir sind zutiefst besorgt darüber, dass Krieg erneut als Lösung und als Instrument präsentiert wird, mit dem Staaten ihre nationalen Interessen anderen aufzwingen und Konflikte mit Gewalt beilegen. Wir lehnen diese Logik entschieden ab.
Unsere Botschaft als ICYE ist klar: Krieg darf nicht normalisiert werden. Nachhaltiger Frieden kann nicht durch Gewalt erzwungen werden, sondern muss durch Dialog, Gerechtigkeit und Zusammenarbeit aufgebaut werden. Dauerhafte Sicherheit entsteht dort, wo die Zivilgesellschaft frei, vernetzt und stark ist. Wo Regierungen zur Rechenschaft gezogen werden und die Grundsätze der Charta der Vereinten Nationen achten.
